Photography exhibition in London honors Türkiye's earthquake victims

LONDON (AA) - A photography exhibition featuring the works of a Turkish journalist has opened in London on the occasion of the first anniversary of the deadly twin earthquakes that hit southern Türkiye
The poignant display serves as a commemoration of those who lost their lives in the tragic event.
The exhibition, titled "Earth's Sigh," showcases a collection of photographs captured by Yunus Dalgic in earthquake-hit areas of Hatay province.
The Feb. 6, 2023 earthquakes killed a total of 53,537 people and injured more than 107,000 others, leaving a deep scar on the hearts of people worldwide.
To honor the memories of the departed, various programs and events were organized across the globe reflecting the solidarity and compassion of communities far and wide.
Speaking at the exhibition, Dalgic expressed the enduring pain felt by those affected by the earthquakes, emphasizing the unwavering commitment of expatriates to support their homeland in times of adversity.
He dedicated the exhibition not only to the earthquake victims but also to his sister Kubra Dalgic Oge, who tragically lost her life in a recent traffic accident.
The poignant photos on display capture the raw emotions and stark realities faced by survivors in the aftermath of the earthquakes. Each image serves as a testament to the resilience and strength of the human spirit in the face of tragedy.
