Planned tube strike in London suspended following improved offer

Following new talks, improved offer, union agreed to suspend planned industrial action, says union official

LONDON (AA) - A planned two-day strike on the London Underground transport has been suspended following new talks and an improved offer, according to a union Tuesday.

The strike was planned to for Nov. 7 and Nov. 12 by the Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF) union due to a dispute about a pay rise.

ASLEF announced early Tuesday that the two-day strike has been suspended.

"Following on fresh talks and an improved offer, ASLEF has agreed to suspend planned industrial action on London," Finn Brennan, ASLEF district organizer, wrote on X.

"Details of the offer will be discussed with our reps at a meeting on Thursday. We are pleased that this progress has been made and strike action averted at this time," he added.
