MOSCOW (AA) – An investigation into another Russian Armed Forces-related corruption case has been launched, local media reported Tuesday.

Police questioned Vyacheslav Akhmedov, the director of Patriot Park in Kubinka, Moscow region, which is themed around Russian military equipment, and searched its administrative buildings, Russian state news agency TASS said.

"Investigative actions, including expropriation of documents, are related to the theft of more than 40 million rubles (some $458,000) in public procurement. Currently, investigations are underway, including of the park’s director, Vyacheslav Akhmedov," the news agency said.

The theme park was established by the order of the then-defense minister in October 2014 and was initially named the Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Patriot.

In 2023, it was renamed the Central Military-Patriotic Park of Culture and Recreation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Patriot.

Earlier this year, five high-ranking officials from the Russian Defense Ministry, including then-deputy defense minister Timur Ivanov, were arrested on corruption charges.
