President Erdogan, Netanyahu discuss ties, cooperation and Israeli-Palestinian conflict in New York

'Türkiye can collaborate with Israel in the fields of energy, technology, innovation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity,' Turkish president tells Israeli premier

NEW YORK (AA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday in New York, discussing a range of issues including ties and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The meeting took place at the Turkish House on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

"During the meeting, international and regional issues, political and economic relations between the two countries as well as the latest developments regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict were discussed," the Presidency's Directorate of Communications said on X.

It said the Turkish leader also stated at the meeting that "Türkiye can collaborate with Israel in the fields of energy, technology, innovation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and that they should strive together for a world where peace prevails."

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, AK Party Spokesperson Omer Celik, Director of the National Intelligence Agency Ibrahim Kalin, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun and Chief Advisor on Foreign Policy and Security to the President Akif Cagatay Kilic were also present at the meeting.

President Erdogan said on X that he hopes their talks will "be beneficial for our country and our region."
