Pro-Palestinian protesters rally in Stockholm against Israel’s ceasefire violations in Gaza

STOCKHOLM (AA) - Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered in Stockholm on Saturday to protest Israeli violations of the ceasefire in Gaza and restrictions on humanitarian aid.

Responding to calls from multiple civil society organizations, protesters assembled in Odenplan Square before marching toward parliament.

Participants condemned Israel’s renewed attacks in Gaza despite a ceasefire that took effect in October 2025 and criticized limits on the entry of humanitarian assistance.

Carrying placards reading “End the occupation in Palestine immediately,” “End the genocide and the blockade,” “Let humanitarian aid in,” and “Israel must comply with the peace agreement,” demonstrators urged the Swedish government to impose a comprehensive military embargo on Israel.

Swedish activist Karen Wild said she joined the rally to highlight the suffering of Palestinians. “This is a genocide unfolding in front of us, live-streamed on all screens. No one can deny that this is a genocide and what is going on,” she told Anadolu.

Wild said Israel failed to respect the peace agreement and stressed that all children should be treated equally.

“Every Palestinian child is worth the same as a Swedish, German or French child. Doesn't matter where they come from. A child is a child. ,” she said. "Children are freezing and dying of hunger. They call it a ‘ceasefire,’ but I call it a ‘genocide.’"
