ROME (AA) – In solidarity with Palestine, a group of people staged a protest in the Italian capital of Rome, urging people to boycott Israeli products.
On Filarete street in Rome, about 100 protesters staged a rally on Friday in support of Palestine and against Israel's ongoing assault on the Gaza Strip, calling on the general public to boycott Israeli-linked products.
Some NGOs also joined the crowd, which held sign cards that read "Boycott Israel" and "Stop Genocide."
They demanded a boycott of some multinational corporations' products and services, as well as Israeli products.
The group chanted pro-Palestinian slogans and vowed to hold similar demonstrations across the country to raise awareness about the boycott campaign.
The Israeli army resumed bombing the Gaza Strip early Friday after declaring an end to a week-long humanitarian pause with the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas.
At least 178 Palestinians have been killed and 589 injured on Friday in Israeli airstrikes, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.
The humanitarian pause began on Nov. 24 as part of an agreement between Israel and Hamas to temporarily halt fighting to allow hostage swaps and aid delivery.
More than 15,000 Palestinians, mostly children and women, have been killed in Israeli attacks since Oct. 7 following a cross-border attack by Hamas.
Around 1,200 Israelis have also been killed, according to official estimates.
