Putin discusses bilateral ties with Armenian premier in phone call

Talks focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in energy sector, according to Kremlin

ISTANBUL (AA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Friday spoke over the phone and discussed bilateral ties between their countries, a Kremlin statement said.

Initiated by the Armenian side, the phone call focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, following the December 2024 meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

The leaders acknowledged the positive outcomes of joint efforts within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), emphasizing their significant contributions to Armenia’s economy.

Pashinyan briefed Putin on Yerevan’s recent actions regarding its relations with the European Union. In response, the Russian president shared his views and assessments on the matter.
