ISTANBUL (AA) - A Qatari plane arrived at Egypt's Al-Arish airport Friday carrying humanitarian aid for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip which have been under a devastating Israeli onslaught since Oct. 7.
The Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement the plane carried “19 tons of aid, including food supplies, provided by Qatar Charity" and is the 90th Qatari plane already sent to Palestinians in Gaza.
The aid is part of the Gulf country's "full support to the brotherly Palestinian people amid the current difficult humanitarian conditions."
Several Palestinians holding Qatari residency were evacuated from Gaza to Doha, it added.
Flouting an International Court of Justice's provisional ruling, Israel continues its onslaught on the Gaza Strip where at least 33,091 Palestinians have been killed, mostly women and children, and 75,750 injured since early October, according to Palestinian authorities.
Israel has pounded the Gaza Strip since a cross-border attack by Hamas, which Tel Aviv said killed less than 1,200 people.
The Israeli war on Gaza has pushed 85% of the territory's population into internal displacement amid acute shortages of food, clean water and medicine, while 60% of the enclave's infrastructure has been damaged or destroyed, according to the UN.
