Record close on Wall Street as tech stocks soar

NEW YORK (AA) – Tech gains led to a record close on Wall Street on the last trading day of the week.

The Dow rose 64 points to finish the day at 19,963. The S&P added seven points to 2,276.

And the Nasdaq increased 33 points to end the day at 5,521, completing new records for all three indexes.

The Dow added 1 percent for the week, while the S&P rose 1.7 percent and the Nasdaq gained 2.6 percent.

E-commerce giants Amazon and Ebay saw their shares increase 2 percent and 3.5 percent, respectively.

Facebook was up 2.3 percent.
