Republic Day celebrated at Turkish diplomatic missions across Europe
Embassies in UK, Sweden, Germany, France, Austria, permanent mission of Türkiye to UN Office in Geneva among those that held receptions

LONDON (AA) - Turkish diplomatic missions across Europe celebrated the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye on Tuesday.
Embassies in the UK, Sweden, Germany, France, Austria and the Permanent Mission of Türkiye to the UN Office in Geneva were among those that held receptions for Republic Day.
The 101st anniversary of the declaration of the Turkish Republic was celebrated with an event organized in Geneva.
It began with a minute of silence followed by the Turkish national anthem.
“Drawing strength from our unity and solidarity, we are working hard to carry our country even further under the leadership of our esteemed president (Recep Tayyip Erdogan),” Burak Akcapar, the permanent representative of Türkiye to the UN in Geneva, told the event.
In Sweden, a reception was held at the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm with the attendance of military representatives from various countries, representatives of Turkish non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and embassy staff as well as many other guests.

Guests were served delicacies from Turkish cuisine.
During the reception at the Turkish Embassy in the German capital Berlin, the Turkish national anthem and German national anthem were played, followed by an address by the Turkish ambassador, Ahmet Basar Sen.
Sen also paid tribute to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, and all other independence heroes.
In the UK, a reception was held at the Turkish Embassy with the attendance of Turkish Ambassador Osman Koray Ertas, Kenan Poleo, the British Consul General in Istanbul, and many other guests as well as representatives of Turkish communities
In Paris, Yunus Demirer, the Turkish Ambassador to France, hosted an event at the embassy to celebrate the 101st anniversary of Republic Day.
The reception was held with the attendance of Türkiye's Permanent Representative to UNESCO, Ambassador Gulnur Aybet, Kerem Yilmaz, the consul general of Türkiye in Paris, diplomats from various countries, French politicians and members of Turkish communities.
During a celebratory event at the Turkish Embassy in the Austrian capital Vienna, Ambassador Ozan Ceyhun spoke about the struggle that the Turkish nation went through during the War of Independence and the establishment of the Republic.
Saying the second century of the Republic is called the "Century of Türkiye," Ceyhun noted that Türkiye is moving towards the future with firm steps with its rich historical heritage and important development moves made under the leadership of President Erdogan.
