MOSCOW (AA) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Friday likened the resettlement of Palestinians from their land to a threat to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Speaking at a news conference in Moscow following a meeting with his Kuwaiti counterpart Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Lavrov said, in this case, Palestinians will be doomed to a "rightless existence."
"We are very wary of plans to destroy the prospects for the creation of a Palestinian state, to doom the Palestinians to an eternal rightless existence," he stressed.
The minister emphasized that the implementation of the resettlement plans will not bring peace to the region, on the contrary, "grapes of wrath" will be sown, which will ripe very quickly.
"Therefore, before any more escapades, it is better to get together and agree on how to implement the decisions of the Security Council. This is the only way to ensure peace and security in this very complex and explosive region," he said.
Russia advocates for immediate actions to secure an early cease-fire, establish humanitarian corridors to prevent further casualties, and deliver essential aid to affected civilians, he said.
Turning to Russia-Kuwait bilateral relations, Lavrov said Moscow is interested in a visa-free regime with Kuwait.
For his part, Sabah said Kuwait was among the first countries that organized deliveries of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, as of Friday, 11 planes with over 400 tons of humanitarian cargos have been delivered to Palestinians.
