Retail, crude gains push Wall Street to record close

Dow, S&P finish at all-time highs

NEW YORK (AA) - Two major stock market indexes ended at record highs Friday on the back of gains in crude and retail shares.

The Dow added 84 points to close at a record high of 21,637, a third such finish in consecutive days.

The S&P 500 also ended at an all-time high, rising 11 points to 2,459.

The Nasdaq rose 38 points to close at 6,312, ending higher for the sixth consecutive trading day.

Walmart and Macy's saw their stocks increase 1.7 percent and 1.2 percent, respectively.

At the final bell, U.S. benchmark West Texas Intermediate was at $46.62. International benchmark Brent crude was trading at $49.01 a barrel, each up 1.2 percent.
