Rudy Giuliani, former Trump lawyer, surrenders at Fulton County jail in election subversion case
Attorney Sidney Powell also surrenders to Georgia authorities on charges related to 2020 election subversion case

WASHINGTON (AA) - Rudy Giuliani, the former lawyer for Donald Trump, surrendered to authorities in the state of Georgia on charges related to the 2020 election subversion case.
Giuliani, who is the former mayor of New York City, was indicted last week along with Trump and 17 others in the Georgia election meddling case by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Giuliani, 79, faces 13 charges, including breaking Georgia's racketeering act, illegally appointing electoral college electors and soliciting a public officer in the state to violate their oath.
Giuliani was released on a $150,000 bond, second only to Trump's $200,000.
He told reporters ahead of his trip to Georgia that he was “feeling very, very good about it because I feel like I am defending the rights of all Americans, as I did so many times as a United States attorney.”
"I'm the same Rudy Giuliani who took down the mafia, made New York City the safest city in America, reduced crime more than any mayor in the history of any city anywhere, and I'm fighting for justice," he added.
Sidney Powell, another Trump lawyer, also surrendered at the Fulton County jail Wednesday and agreed to a $100,000 bond.
All those charged in the case have until Aug. 25 to surrender for booking.
Giuliani is the seventh defendant to turn himself in while Trump said he would surrender Thursday.
