Russia claims it took control of another settlement in Ukraine’s Donetsk region

MOSCOW (AA) - Russia claimed on Wednesday that it took control of another settlement in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region.

In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said the settlement of Komyshivka has been captured.

It said that the forces have also improved their positions along the frontline.

Since the beginning of the "special military operation," 640 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 30,613 drones, 575 air defense systems, 17,589 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,426 multiple rocket launchers, 13,720 field artillery and mortars, 25,312 special military vehicles have been destroyed, according to the statement.

Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on Russia's claims, and independent verification of the claims is difficult due to the ongoing war.
