Russia claims it took control of settlement in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region
Russian forces captured village of Symynivka, claims Defense Ministry
By Burc Eruygur
ISTANBUL (AA) - Russia claimed on Friday that it took control of a settlement in Ukraine’s northeastern Kharkiv region.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed in a statement on Telegram that its forces captured the village of Symynivka, situated about 47 kilometers (29 miles) northeast of Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on Russia’s claim, and independent verification of the claim is difficult due to the ongoing war, which will enter its fifth year next month.
