MOSCOW (AA) – Russia on Friday launched a Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Progress MS-25 cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS).

The spacecraft will deliver over 2.5 tons of different goods to the Russian segment of the ISS, including fuel, water, food, equipment, and clothes, the Russian Space Corporation (Roscosmos) said in a statement.

The cargo spacecraft is expected to dock with the Russian Poisk mini-research module on Sunday at 2:15 p.m. Moscow time (1115GMT).

The spacecraft is bringing to the ISS the trophy of the Games of the Future tournament, an international competition combining classical and digital sports that will be held in 2024 in the Russian city of Kazan in 16 hybrid "physical + digital" disciplines, which means that athletes' skills will be tested in two unrelated dimensions.

Progress MS-25 will also deliver New Year's gifts to the cosmonauts, which have been prepared by their relatives and friends.
