Russia says 8 injured in Belgorod region due to Ukrainian air strikes
Various damages inflicted in 34 apartments in 19 buildings, 1 private residential building, 37 vehicles due to shelling in Belgorod city, says governor

ISTANBUL (AA) - At least eight people were injured in Russia's border region of Belgorod due to Ukrainian air attacks, the region's governor said early Thursday.
“According to preliminary information, eight people were injured: seven adults and one child … An 11-year-old girl with shrapnel wounds to her left foot was taken to the children's regional clinical hospital,” Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram.
Gladkov further said that in Belgorod, located about 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of the Ukrainian border, various damages were inflicted in 34 apartments in 19 buildings, one private residential building, and 37 vehicles due to the shelling.
“Operational services, specialists from construction organizations, administrations, and management companies work on the ground,” Gladkov went on to say.
The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that its air defense downed 15 missiles and one drone over the Belgorod region, as well as two and three drones over the Bryansk and Kursk regions, respectively, during an overnight attack by Ukraine.
Ukrainian authorities have not yet commented on the claims.
