MOSCOW (AA) – Russia said on Sunday it used high-precision weapons to hit a fuel depot near Lviv, Ukraine a day before.

Speaking at a daily briefing in Moscow, Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said they also destroyed an airfield and a repair plant in Lviv and a missile depot near the capital Kyiv over the past day.

The repair plant was engaged in air defense systems S-125 and Tor, as well as radar stations, electronic warfare and gunsights for tanks.

The ammunition depot 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) southwest of Kyiv stored missiles for S-300 and Buk air defense systems, Konashenkov added.

The Russian air defense systems destroyed last night 18 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), he said.

The aerospace forces, meanwhile, destroyed 67 objects of Ukraine's military infrastructure, including command posts, field warehouses with weapons and ammunition, army strongholds.

"In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 289 unmanned aerial vehicles, 1,656 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 169 multiple rocket launchers, 684 field artillery and mortar guns, as well as 1,503 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed," Konashenkov said.

The Russia-Ukraine war, which started on Feb.24, has met international outrage with the EU, US and UK, among others, implementing tough financial sanctions on Moscow.

At least 1,119 civilians have been killed in Ukraine and 1,790 injured, according to UN estimates, with the true figure feared to be far higher.

More than 3.8 million Ukrainians have also fled to neighboring countries, with millions more displaced inside the country, according to the UN refugee agency.
