Russia, Ukraine form working group on humanitarian corridors
3d round of Russia-Ukraine peace talks may be held this weekend, says member of Ukrainian negotiation team

MOSCOW (AA) – Russia and Ukraine on Friday created a working group to address the establishment of humanitarian corridors in the war zone, said a member of the Ukrainian negotiation team.
The International Red Cross will serve as a mediator as Ukraine does not trust the Russian side, Mikhail Podolyak said at a news conference in Brest, Belarus.
"The position of the Russian Federation is tough, but the position of Ukraine is also tough, so the negotiations will be difficult, but they will really go," he said.
Podolyak also said that the third round of talks may take place on Saturday or Sunday with the sides discussing the exchange of war prisoners.
The talks are underway in a bid to end the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war that began on Feb. 24.
Russia's war on Ukraine has been met by outrage from the international community, with the EU, UK, and US implementing a range of economic sanctions on Russia.
