ISTANBUL (AA) - Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Sunday denied reports in the media, which cited the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War, claiming that she confirmed there was a 'lack of control' in the country's information space.
“There have already been fakes about the fact that I supposedly have a US passport. They also lied about the fact that I gave birth to a child in America. Bags and clothes were in vain appropriated by some brands and huge price tags. What nonsense about myself have I not read,” Zakharova said in a message on her Telegram account.
“This is another info attack that has been going on against the backdrop of unceasing threats of direct reprisal for a year now. These are not the latest fakes … Remember and tell others: if they write somewhere that I'm talking about the fact that we can't stand it, we can't stand it, we can't, then it wasn't me,” Zakharova also said.
Media reports earlier in the day claimed that analysts heard Zakharova, during a forum in the capital Moscow, acknowledge a clash among Russia's "elite" on creating an institution in order to control the information space in the country.
