Saudi crown prince says economic partnership with US to witness ‘unprecedented growth’

ISTANBUL (AA) – Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Wednesday that economic partnership with the US will witness “unprecedented growth” in the coming years.

Speaking at the US-Saudi Investment Forum in Washington, bin Salman expressed appreciation for US President Donald Trump for strengthening economic partnership between the two countries, based on “growth, economic diversification, and innovation.”

“We are confident that our economic partnership will witness unprecedented growth in the coming years,” he said.

Bin Salman noted that many new agreements were signed and several investment projects in various fields, including defense, energy, artificial intelligence, rare minerals, and finance, were initiated during his visit to the US capital.

“We also signed the Strategic Economic Partnership Document between our countries, in a historic step to strengthen economic cooperation,” he said.

The crown prince expressed hope that the US-Saudi Investment Forum would contribute to enhancing the “historic relationship” between Riyadh and Washington and advance the path of investment in line with their shared ambitions.

He called on investors to “seize the attractive opportunities offered by the Saudi-American partnership.”

Bin Salman arrived in Washington on Tuesday for a three-day visit.

On Tuesday, Trump announced the designation of Saudi Arabia as a “major non-NATO ally” and the signing of a “historic strategic defense agreement.”
