Sen. Elissa Slotkin to deliver Democratic response to Trump's joint address

WASHINGTON (AA) - Sen. Elissa Slotkin from the US state of Michigan will deliver the Democratic response to President Donald Trump's address to a joint session of Congress next week, the Senate minority leader said Thursday.

"Nothing short of a rising star in our party—she’s dedicated her life to our country.

"She will layout the fight to tackle the deep challenges we face and chart a path forward," Chuck Schumer said on X.

Trump is set to speak before the House of Representatives and Senate lawmakers March 4.

Schumer also announced that. Rep. Adriano Espaillat will deliver the Democrats' Spanish-language response.
