ANKARA (AA) - SenfoRock Orchestra, a Turkish rock group performing symphonic interpretations of local and foreign songs, aims to reach 50,000 audiences with an open air concert on Saturday evening in the central province of Eskisehir.
"We will perform at an open-air concert on June 22 in Eskisehir with record-high audience," composer and orchestra conductor Musa Gocmen has told Anadolu Agency.
"It's going to be an incredibly glorious and exciting concert," he said of the event, in which a dozens-strong orchestra will play before both rock and symphony-lovers alike.
In the event to be held in the Cumhuriyet (Republic) Square, they will perform classic songs by rock legends including Metallica, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, as well as Cem Karaca, Baris Manco, 3 Hur-el and Fikret Kizilok from the heartlands of Anatolia.
Gocmen said his group received very good reactions abroad as well.
SenfoRock, which is a communion between rock and classical music, made its debut in Turkey's capital Ankara before going overseas for its first international tours.
They reached thousands of people with their concerts both at home as well as in other countries.
SenfoRock has performed in every city across Turkey and in many countries including the U.S., Brazil, Argentina, Greece, Romania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Poland, France, Egypt, Germany and the Netherlands, Gocmen said.
He stressed that about 60,000 people came to the "Masters of Rock", a major symphonic rock concert in Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.
"It is a great pleasure to make music with 60,000 people,'' he added.
Gocmen has conducted major symphonic rock concerts across the globe.
