Police taking official measures, actions, says Interior Ministry
BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - A far-right group in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Tuesday hoisted a Russian flag in the Serbian entity in solidarity with Russia, supporting its war on Ukraine.
Serbian football club Red Star Belgrade's fans, also known as Delije, hoisted the Russian flag next to the flag of the Bosnian entity of Republika Srpska, along with a "Z" symbol and crossed symbols of NATO and the EU in Visegrad, an eastern city of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Interior Ministry of Republika Srpska confirmed that the Visegrad Police Station is taking "official measures and actions within their competence" and that they have also informed the inspection body of the municipality.
"We note that no reports of citizens' anxiety about this event have been recorded," the Visegrad police said.
The group also posted on social media some photos of the event, saying: "Greetings from Visegrad."
The letter "Z" is being used as one of the symbols of the Russian military forces since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war on Feb. 24. The symbol has become an unofficial symbol of the Kremlin in support of the war.
