JERUSALEM (AA) - An Israeli army officer was killed on Tuesday and two soldiers were injured amid Tel Aviv’s ongoing wars in Gaza and Lebanon, the military said.
A military statement said an officer, from the army’s Duvdevan commando unit, was seriously injured in a Hamas attack near the Gaza border on Oct. 7, 2023, and succumbed to his wounds on Tuesday.
The army said in another statement that two soldiers were seriously injured in fighting in Gaza and a drone attack near the border with Lebanon.
According to military figures, at least 805 soldiers have been killed and 5,427 others injured since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict last year.
Israel has launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip following a Hamas attack last year, killing more than 44,200 people, most of them women and children, and injuring over 104,700.
The conflict has spread to Lebanon, with Israel launching deadly strikes across the country in an escalation from a year of cross-border warfare between Israel and Hezbollah since the start of the Gaza war.
On Thursday, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
