BEIRUT (AA) – One person was killed and another injured in an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, according to Lebanese media.
The strike targeted a motorbike in the border town of Naqoura, the state-run National News Agency reported.
No further details were provided by the broadcaster.
The news agency also reported Israeli shelling with white phosphorus bombs in the town of Markaba, causing forest fires in the area. Another Israeli missile attack was reported in Ayta al-Shaab in southern Lebanon.
No injuries or damage were reported.
Hezbollah, for its part, claimed a drone attack on the Israeli army’s Hermon Brigade 810 in the Maaleh Golani barracks in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.
Tension has flared along the border between Lebanon and Israel amid intermittent exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah, in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension comes amid an Israeli military offensive in the Gaza Strip that has killed over 36,500 people since a major attack by the Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7 last year.
