KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - At least one person was killed and two others injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday evening, police said.
The explosion occurred in Bakkakhel area of Bannu district, which borders the restive North Waziristan tribal region, district police chief Ziauddin Ahmad told Anadolu.
The bomb was planted in a motorbike parked near a police station.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
Pakistan has seen a surge in terrorist attacks since the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan in August 2021.
Islamabad has been urging the Taliban to live up to their commitments to rein in terrorist groups, and not to allow them use Afghan soil as a launch pad for attacks.
