ANKARA (AA) – One of Hezbollah's fighters was killed in clashes with the Israeli army, the Lebanon-based group announced on Friday.
The group identified the fighter as Muhammad Hassan Mustafa, who was killed "on the road to Jerusalem," Hezbollah said in a statement, referring to the group members fighting against Israeli soldiers in support of Palestinians facing devastating Israeli army attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The new fatality brings the total number of Hezbollah fighters killed in combat with Israeli forces since Oct. 8 to 373, according to an Anadolu tally.
Fears have grown about a full-blown war between Israel and the Lebanese resistance group amid an exchange of cross-border attacks between the two sides.
The escalation comes against the backdrop of a deadly Israeli onslaught on Gaza, which has killed more than 38,800 victims since October, following an attack by the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas.
