A member of the Turkish military was slightly injured during an emergency helicopter landing in the country’s Aegean region, said an official statement on Tuesday.
The helicopter had to make the landing after taking off from the Cigli 2nd Main Jet Base Command in the Izmir province, according to a National Defense Ministry statement.
The emergency landing was due to a technical malfunction, it added.
After suffering slight injuries, the member of the military – who was not identified – was taken to the hospital, where he began treatment.
An investigation into the incident has been launched, the ministry said.
