ANKARA (AA) - At least 10 people died after a boat ferrying goods from Uganda overturned at Kenya’s Usenge beach in Siaya county, a local newspaper reported Wednesday.
The incident, which took place Tuesday at around 8 p.m. (500GMT) and reported by authorities on Wednesday morning, also left 10 people missing. Ten bodies were retrieved from the water, local police chief Francis Kooli said, according to The Star’s report.
"The rescue operations are currently battling with poor weather and strong winds. We have enhanced operations and restricted movement on the lake," Kooli was quoted as saying.
