ANKARA (AA) - A 10-man Liverpool were held to a 1-1 draw Monday by visitors Crystal Palace in the English Premier League with the Reds' Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez shown a red card for his violent conduct.
Crystal Palace took the lead in the 32nd minute at Liverpool's Anfield Stadium as Ivorian forward Wilfried Zaha finished in the area after a through ball. Zaha beat the offside trap before scoring.
Liverpool's new signing from Benfica, Nunez, was sent off in the 57th minute as the 23-year-old headbutted Joachim Andersen after arguing with the Danish defender.
In the 61st minute, Luis Diaz scored a classy goal outside the area for Liverpool to level the match. After skipping many Crystal Palace players, Colombian forward Diaz sent the ball to the bottom right corner.
Patrick Vieira's men took a 1-1 draw from the home team.
Mid-table Liverpool have two points in two matches.
Crystal Palace are 16th with a point.
In the next fixture, Liverpool will visit Manchester United on Aug. 22 at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are now in last spot as they lost two matches in the Premier League.
