ISTANBUL (AA) - Twelve people were injured due to turbulence on a Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin, airport authorities said on Sunday.
Dublin Airport in a statement said the plane landed safely as scheduled before 1 p.m. (1200 GMT).
"Upon landing, the aircraft was met by emergency services, including Airport Police and our Fire and Rescue department, due to 6 passengers and 6 crew [12 total] on board reporting injuries after the aircraft experienced turbulence while airborne over Turkey," the statement said.
Eight passengers were subsequently taken to hospital, it said, adding that flight operations at the airport remain as usual.
The incident comes days after the death of a 73-year-old British man on a Singapore-bound flight from London, which experienced severe turbulence.
