RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - At least 13 Palestinians have been injured in the Israeli army's raids across the occupied West Bank on Thursday.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its medical teams treated 13 injured after a series of Israeli incursions into the West Bank, including in the cities of Ramallah, Nablus and Tubas.

It added that five of the injured were shot by live ammunition, three by rubber-coated bullets, and five from teargas asphyxiation.

The Red Crescent said that the Israeli army intentionally targeted an ambulance when it was transferring one injured person in the northern city of Tubas.

According to witnesses, the Israeli army also raided a money exchange shop in Ramallah, and confiscated its belongings.

The army later said it closed an exchange shop in Ramallah, alleging that it is involved in transferring funds "to terrorist entities."

Similar incursions also took place in the cities of Tulkarem, Qalqilya, Hebron and Bethlehem to arrest Palestinians, according to witnesses.

Tensions have been running high across the West Bank since Israel launched a deadly military offensive against the Gaza Strip after an attack by the Hamas group on Oct. 7, 2023.

At least 519 Palestinians have since been killed and nearly 5,000 others injured by Israeli army fire in the occupied territory, according to the Health Ministry.

Israel stands accused of “genocide” at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which in its latest ruling has ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its operation in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
