GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - At least 15 Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes on residential areas in the northern Gaza Strip.
Speaking to Anadolu, Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said the rescue teams removed bodies of seven people, including three children and two women, from under the rubble of a destroyed home for the Daya family in Gaza City.
In another airstrike on a home for the Al-Jemasi family in Gaza City, four Palestinians were killed, the civil defense spokesman added.
He also noted that four others were killed in an Israeli airstrike on the Jabalia refugee camp, the northern Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, the eastern area of Deir al-Balah city in the central Gaza Strip witnessed an Israeli limited incursion amid gunfire towards Palestinian areas, according to witnesses.
Flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7, 2023 attack by Hamas.
More than 39,000 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, and nearly 90,000 injured, according to local health authorities.
Over nine months into the Israeli onslaught, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
Israel is accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which ordered Tel Aviv to immediately halt its military operation in the southern city of Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
