ISTANBUL (AA) - At least 16 people were injured in an overnight Russian airstrike on Ukraine’s southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, local authorities said on Monday.
“16 people were injured as a result of the Russian attack on the center of Zaporizhzhia. Four of them are hospitalized,” Governor Ivan Fedorov said in a statement on Telegram.
Fedorov said that the airstrike damaged various public and private buildings, including 13 high-rise buildings, as well as an unspecified number of educational institutions and private homes.
He claimed that at least seven strikes were conducted by Russia on the city of Zaporizhzhia.
Russian authorities have not yet commented on the incident or the claims.
