ANKARA (AA) - First European Union citizens could be vaccinated for the novel coronavirus before the end of 2020, said EU Commission president on Wednesday.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel. The @EU_Commission has secured contracts with 6 vaccines companies,” said Ursula von der Leyen on Twitter.
“The 1st European Union citizens might already be vaccinated before the end of December,” she added.
“This is our ticket out of this pandemic,”
The EU has agreed to receive 400 million doses of vaccine from AstraZeneca, 300 million from Sanofi-GSK, 400 million from Johnson & Johnson, 300 million from Pfizer and BioNTech, 405 million from CureVac, and 160 million from Moderna.
