1st-half goals lead Portugal to 2-0 win against Vietnam in Women's World Cup

ISTANBUL (AA) - Portugal beat Vietnam 2-0 on first-half goals Thursday in Group E of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Telma Encarnacao scored in the seventh minute and Kika Nazareth produced a 21-minute goal at Waikato Stadium.

In another Group E match, Team USA were held to a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands at Wellington Regional Stadium.

Team USA are atop the standings with four points while the Netherlands are second with the same amount of points. Portugal are third with three points and Vietnam are at the bottom of the table without one point.

Group B leaders Nigeria defeated Australia 3-2 and have four points.
