ISTANBUL (AA) – An Indian national was among two dead after a missing plane was found crashed in the Philippines.
Local authorities in Cordillera Administrative Region said a two-seater Cessna plane went missing on Tuesday while on a training flight.
A statement by the regional police office said the bodies and the damaged plane were found late Thursday.
The plane had taken off from the Laoag International Airport, days after the Southeast Asian nation was hit by Typhoon Doksuri which brought heavy winds and rains.
The deceased were identified as Captain Edzel John Lumbao Tabuzo and Indian student pilot Anshum Rajkumar Konde.
The body of Konde, the Indian national, is being sent home through the Indian Embassy in Manila.
Typhoon Doksuri has killed at least 53 people, including 26 who perished in a boat sinking, while 13 others remain missing in the Philippines.
At least 196 towns were placed under a state of emergency across the country as 288,000 people remain displaced due to the impact of the typhoon.
