Two irregular migrants died Wednesday off the northern coast of France while trying to reach the UK, according to media reports.
A boat carrying 50 irregular migrants capsized 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) off the coast of Pas-de-Calais en route through the English Channel to reach England, said broadcaster BFMTV
Authorities rushed to the area to rescue the other migrants, and maritime traffic was suspended.
Calais has been a hotspot for migrants seeking safe passage to the UK.
