JERUSALEM (AA) – Two Israelis were injured in an alleged stabbing attack in southern Israel on Thursday, according to local media.
Israeli Channel 13 said the attack took place at the Beit Kama junction in the Negev region.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said one of the injured was in serious condition.
Israeli police said the attacker was “neutralized” without specifying whether he was killed.
Tensions have escalated across the Palestinian territories amid a deadly Israel offensive on the Gaza Strip following a Hamas attack, which has so far killed more than 31,000 people since last October.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which issued an interim ruling in January ordering Tel Aviv to stop genocidal acts and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
