KARACHI, Pakistan (AA) - A wild leopard attacked and injured at least two people in northwestern Pakistan, local media reported.
The incident took place in the remote town of Parachinar near the Afghanistan border, when a leopard stormed a local vegetable market, causing panicked people to rush for shelter.
At least two people were injured by the leopard before wildlife officials rushed to the scene and eventually captured the big cat, local broadcaster Geo News reported.
Their condition is stated to be out of danger.
Earlier this month, citizens were stunned after spotting a lion casually strolling along a main road in the southern port city of Karachi. The big cat escaped a vehicle when it was being taken to a veterinarian by its owner.
The lion, however, did not cause harm to the onlookers.
In February, a feline believed to have escaped from a safari park was spotted running from one house to another and scaling walls in a residential area in the capital Islamabad.
It took the wildlife personnel at least six hours to capture the animal.
