TBILISI, Georgia (AA) – At least two people were killed in a landslide, while the search for two more is ongoing as heavy rains continued in Georgia since Thursday, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.
Heavy rainfall in Ajara and Guria regions caused landslides, killing at least two people, the ministry said in a statement.
Transportation to several villages in the Guria region was cut off, and search and rescue teams were sent to the region, it added.
The bodies of two people were discovered during search and rescue operations, the statement said, adding that efforts are underway to find two more missing people.
So far, search and rescue teams have rescued and transported 11 people to safe locations.
