MOSCOW (AA) - Two people lost their lives in a rock collapse at a potash mine in Russia's city of Solikamsk, Perm Krai, the region's governor announced on Thursday.
The mine was operated by Uralkali, one of Russia’s leading potash fertilizer producers and exporters, Dmitry Makhonin wrote on Telegram.
In a separate statement, the regional prosecutor's office said it launched an investigation focusing on compliance with industrial safety standards, workplace regulations, and overall working conditions at the site.
Russia's Investigative Committee for the Perm region also opened a criminal case into the accident.
