BEIRUT (AA) - Lebanese group Hezbollah said on Saturday that two of its members were killed in clashes with Israeli forces near the Lebanese-Israeli border.
The death toll of the Hezbollah fighters killed by the Israeli forces since Oct. 8, 2023 has risen to 269, according to previous statements by the group.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported on Saturday that the Israeli warplanes launched an attack on the town of Aita al-Shaab, which led to “severe damage to property, infrastructure, and homes.”
There was no comment from the Israeli army.
Tensions have flared along the Lebanese-Israeli border amid intermittent exchanges of fire between the Lebanese group Hezbollah and Israeli forces in the deadliest clashes since the two sides fought a full-scale war in 2006.
The border tension came amid an Israeli military campaign in the Gaza Strip following a cross-border attack by Palestinian group Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023.
