2 pilots killed as planes collide midair at Nevada air show

No one else was injured in the incident, says 'Reno Air Races' event organizer

ISTANBUL (AA) - Two pilots were killed when their planes collided in midair during an air show in the US state of Nevada on Sunday, local media reported.

According to broadcaster ABC7, Nick Macy and Chris Rushing were the airmen who lost their lives in the mishap.

The Reno Air Race Association said in the statement that two planes collided in the air during the closing show of the "Reno Air Races" event.

No one else was injured in the incident, it added.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
