AGRI, Turkey (AA) – Two suspected PKK terrorists who allegedly murdered a poll observer in the aftermath of last month's Turkish election were killed in eastern Turkey, the provincial governor said Friday.
One terrorist suspect was also arrested during an operation in the easternmost Agri province for allegedly murdering Mevlut Bengi, a shopkeeper in a small village in the Dogubayazit district, on June 26 -- two days after the landmark elections -- said a statement by the Agri's Governor's Office.
In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- has been responsible for the death of some 40,000 people, including women and children.
