BAGHDAD (AA) – Two security personnel were killed in a Daesh attack in northern Iraq, according to a military officer on Sunday.
Daesh terrorists attacked a security patrol late Saturday in Balad district, south of Saladin province, Captain Saad Mohammed told Anadolu Agency.
He said a federal police officer and a tribal fighter were killed and another policeman was injured in the attack.
Although security officials have repeatedly announced that Daesh was mostly eradicated in Iraq, the terror group still continues to carry out attacks in the country.
Daesh terrorists are thought to be hiding in the rural areas of Iraq's Mosul, Kirkuk, Diyala, Saladin, and Anbar provinces.
