ANKARA (AA) - The 2023 NBA All-Star reserves were named on Thursday as four players, including Utah Jazz star Lauri Markkanen are set to play their first All-Star game in February.
In addition to Markkanen, Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers), Jaren Jackson Jr. (Memphis Grizzlies), and Shai-Gilgeous Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) were selected for the reserves.
Finnish forward-center Markkanen, Jackson Jr. and Gilgeous-Alexander are in the West reserves.
Haliburton was selected for the East reserves.
The 2023 All-Star game, the 72nd edition, will be held on Feb. 19 at Salt Lake City's Vivint Arena.
This year's All-Star weekend will start on Feb. 17.
LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo were previously named as the All-Star Game captains.
