KHARTOUM, Sudan (AA) - The Sudanese Armed Forces have killed 26 paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) members in the southern city of El-Obeid, the army said in a statement Friday.
Special armed forces in the Faraj Allah region between El-Obeid and Barah targeted the RSF, with whom the army has been fighting since April.
The statement said there were no casualties suffered by the army but two RSF vehicles were destroyed and numerous RSF members were wounded.
The army and RSF have been fighting for more than 100 days. Over 3,000 people have been killed, tens of thousands injured and 4 million displaced.
The fighting has been intense, mostly in strategic areas around the capital and in the West.
