JERUSALEM (AA) – The Israeli army said Thursday that 29 soldiers were injured in clashes with Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
A military statement said seven of the injured soldiers were in serious condition.
According to military figures, at least 648 soldiers have been injured since Israel expanded its ground operation in the Gaza Strip on Oct. 27.
Israeli media said that some 445 Israeli soldiers have been killed and 1,740 others injured since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict on Oct. 7.
Israel has bombarded the Gaza Strip from the air and land, imposed a siege, and mounted a ground offensive in retaliation for a cross-border attack by Hamas on Oct. 7.
At least 18,787 Palestinians have been killed and 50,897 injured in the Israeli onslaught since then, according to Gaza’s health authorities.
Nearly 1,200 people are believed to have been killed in the Hamas attack, while around 139 hostages remain in captivity.
